Francis brings more than 45 years of insurance experience, spanning broking, private equity, capital raising and business development.
He has worked with Nelson Hurst and Marsh, Willis, Minet, Aon and Marsh McLennan, and was a founding partner of international niche Lloyd’s broker Special Risk Services—helping take the business from start-up through to its successful trade sale to Minet.
Francis subsequently moved into insurance-related private equity and served as Business Development Director of an AIM-listed venture capital company until 2008. He founded the Alpine Group of companies in 2009.
He co-founded the UK Managing General Agents Association and is the founder of the Commonwealth Insurance Forum.

David is a leading corporate and commercial lawyer who has worked exclusively in and around insurance markets in the UK and internationally for more than 30 years.
A former Clyde & Co partner, he established his own firm to advise Lloyd’s agents, insurers, brokers and managing general agents. He has acted on numerous high-profile M&A transactions and has served as legal adviser to the UK Managing General Agents Association.
Nick advises companies on strategy, M&A, capital raising, investment and financial strategy. He was CFO and Interim CEO of Argo International, formerly Heritage Underwriting Agency plc.
A Chartered Accountant, Nick began his career with Arthur Young and later became an Executive Director at SG Warburg. He subsequently served as Finance Director of CDC Capital Partners and Managing Director of Securitas Capital, Swiss Re’s private-equity investment firm.
Mark has more than 25 years of private-equity experience investing in smaller and mid-market UK businesses. He worked with BancBoston Capital before co-founding Alcuin in 2004.
His investments have included Games Workshop, Eveden, Menzies Hotels and Adapt. Mark studied History at Balliol College, Oxford, and holds an MA from Birkbeck, University of London.
